On an old northern meadow, a new story is unfolding. This is where we have created Villa Äng, a home for growth and rest, for discovery and togetherness, for learning and tranquillity.

Villa Äng is located in Harads, just south of the Arctic Circle, where the Lule River flows quietly alongside the meadow stretching out in front of the villa.

"Äng" is the Swedish word for meadow - an open, flower-rich landscape traditionally used for haymaking, shaped by both nature and human care, home to diverse plants, pollinators, and quiet beauty.

Science folklore & myths

The meadow carries other stories; tales of folklore and beliefs, myths and legends. Stories of the healing power of herbs and the fairies dancing in the mist, of the magic of berries, of beauty and transience.

Here science meets poetry and we hear faint echoes of those who came before us: settlers and farmers, women and men with rare gifts, railway workers and explorers, and even Carl Linnaeus himself who once praised the splendour of the flowers and the health-giving nature of this place.
